SPURS EYEING FOR REPLACEMENT OF MODRIC

Spurs eyeing Spain midfielder as Modric replacement

Tottenham are eyeing Spain's European Championship-winning midfielder Santi Cazorla as a replacement for Luka Modric, according to reports in Spain.
Madrid paper AS say that Malaga man Cazorla could be lured to White Hart Lane after a row with the Spanish club over unpaid wages.
It is claimed that Spurs are ready to double Cazorla's current €2.5m yearly salary in an attempt to entice him to North London.
Cazorla, 27, became Malaga's record signing last summer when the Andalucian club paid €22m to take him from Villarreal and was pivotal in the club's successful push to finish in a Champions League position.
But he could now be on his way to Tottenham, with Andre Villas-Boas preparing for life without Modric as the Croatian closes in on a move to Real Madrid.

HIKI NDICHO ALICHOSEMA STEVE BRUCE

Exclusive - Bruce: Rooney and Van Persie would be a wonderful pairing

Steve Bruce says Manchester United will have a ‘mouthwatering’ strike partnership to rival any other in world football if Robin van Persie seals a switch to Old Trafford.
Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly confident of landing van Persie from Arsenal in a stunning £20m deal this summer.
That would see the Dutchman team up with Wayne Rooney in attack and the prospect of the pair - who scored 57 Premier League goals between them last season - joining forces has got Bruce excited.
“If he [Ferguson] gets him [Van Persie], it would be a wonderful signing,” said the former United star. “He’s playing at the peak of his career and, with Manchester City laying down the gauntlet, it’s the next challenge.
“Chelsea have been there and Arsenal have been there against them and now they see City as a big threat and you need people like him to come in to the team to freshen it up. There is no doubt about his quality.
“It would be mouthwatering if you’ve got van Persie and Rooney in the same team. That would be a wonderful combination.
"Van Persie played on his own last year. He virtually played as a lone striker, which would let Wayne just drift into that little position he take

AC MILAN WANT RVP TO REPLACE IBRAHIMOVIC

AC Milan want Van Persie to replace Ibrahimovic
AC Milan have joined the race to sign Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie, according to reports in Italy.
Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport says the Serie A giants are ready to make a move following the £31m sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris St Germain.
The transfer means Milan need a replacement quickly – and they see van Persie, who has only a year left on his contract at the Emirates, as good value at £20m.
Manchester United and Manchester City are also vying for the Dutchman’s signature but Arsenal, who would rather not sell at all, would be much happier for him to move abroad than stay in the Premier League.
Gazzetta says the player’s agent has been sounded out by Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani but there has been no contact between Arsenal and Milan so far. Juventus are also said to be in the race.
