Spurs eyeing Spain midfielder as Modric replacement
Tottenham are eyeing Spain's
European Championship-winning midfielder Santi Cazorla as a replacement
for Luka Modric, according to reports in Spain.
Madrid paper AS say that Malaga man
Cazorla could be lured to White Hart Lane after a row with the Spanish
club over unpaid wages.
It is claimed that Spurs are ready to double Cazorla's current €2.5m yearly salary in an attempt to entice him to North London.
Cazorla, 27, became Malaga's record
signing last summer when the Andalucian club paid €22m to take him from
Villarreal and was pivotal in the club's successful push to finish in a
Champions League position.
But he could now be on his way to
Tottenham, with Andre Villas-Boas preparing for life without Modric as
the Croatian closes in on a move to Real Madrid.
